DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IRUN KIKO, IRUN DIDI AND IRUN BIBA?
IRUN KIKO: Hair knotting with thread (threading), usually black in color.
IRUN DIDI: Normal hair plaiting, without thread.
IRUN BIBA: Braiding. This is casual and just about anyone can do it. In most cases, you did it yourself while you wait for the professionals to help you out.
The braiding is usually done in preparation for the actual didi or kiko by the professional stylist (onidiri), see photos below, a Yoruba movie was even made titled Iya Onidiri, I had to watch it to get the snapshot of some photos of hairstyles. However, because the braided hair is usually not considered as complete, it is covered by a gele (scarf) when outdoors.
