The ruins of the ancient defence wall at the old capital city of Oyo Empire

The ruins of the ancient defence wall at the old capital city of Oyo Empire which was a major security strategy to secure the city are still evident in the Park till date.

The original structure was a building of about six feets wide & wide enough for a horseman to patrol on top.

The wall was about 15 feets high, built around the city to prevent external aggression.

It was encircled by a deep & wide trench which no one can scale without fallen-in.

The trench housed the Old Oyo Empire warriors who were always battle ready to repel any attack on the city.
