 Ọmọ ọwọ́ kìí kú lójú ọwọ́ 

Ọmọ ẹsẹ̀ kìí kú lójú ẹsẹ̀ 

Ọmọ Adanyin kìí kú lójú Adanyin.

Bí iná bá kú á fi érú bojú 

Bí ọ̀gẹ̀dẹ̀ bá kú á fi ọmọ rẹ̀ rọ́pò

 Ewé ní ń sin obì

The children of hands (fingers) do not die in the eyes of hands 

 The children of legs (toes) do not die in the eyes of legs 

The children of Adanyin do not die in the eyes of Adanyin.

 If fire is extinguished it replaces itself with ashes.

If plantain dies it replaces itself with new suckers.

 Our children shall not die and good children shall replace each and every one when will kiss the dust.
