Òpìpì kò yé ẹyin sájà mọ àfi abẹ pẹpẹ
Adifafun Ọrunmila
Lọ́jọ́ tí wọn ní òmìmì kan n milẹ̀ bọ̀ wá
Ẹbọ ni Awo pé kí ó ṣe
Ó gbẹbọ níbẹ̀ o rúbọ
Ikin mi ògìrìyàndà
Ifá mọ jẹ kí òmìmì buruku o le mìmí níwájú ikin.
TRANSLATION
Òpìpì (a kind of hen) is not laying eggs on the rafter again but below the roof
Casted Ifá divination for Orúnmìlà
When they were saying that a big calamity was coming to befall the Earth
The Priests advised him to perform sacrifices
He performed the sacrifices
My Ikin, Ògìrìyàndà (alias of Orúnmìlà)
Ifa, don’t let any calamity befall me.
THE STORY
It was the malevolent that were attacking Orúnmìlà and planning to bring war to him. They wanted to destroy him. Orúnmìlà could not sleep well. He was having bad dreams and sensing the incoming calamity.
Orunmila went to consult Ifá. The enemies who were trying to destroy him could not succeed in their mission was why he consulted Ifa. The Priests advised Orúnmìlà to perform sacrifices and after the sacrifice, he should propitiate his Head that Ifá would save him from the enemies.
Orúnmìlà performed all the sacrifices recommended for him. After the sacrifice, he propitiated his sacred Head. The Ajogun who wanted to do bad to Orunmila were rendered powerless.
This was how Orúnmìlà overcome the ajogun who was bringing calamity to Orunmila.
