How does eshu trick ORUNMILA to betray OBATALA and from which ODU ?
According to Ifá mythology, Eshu tricked Orunmila into betraying Obatala by:
1. Manipulating Orunmila’s curiosity: Eshu may have sparked Orunmila’s interest in Obatala’s secrets, making him want to know more.
2. Providing misleading information: Eshu might have given Orunmila false or incomplete information about Obatala’s secrets, leading him to believe he was doing the right thing.

3. Playing on Orunmila’s pride: Eshu could have appealed to Orunmila’s pride as the Orisha of wisdom, making him believe that revealing Obatala’s secrets would demonstrate his own power and knowledge.
4. Creating confusion and chaos: Eshu, as the Orisha of chaos, may have created a situation where Orunmila felt compelled to act, leading him to betray Obatala’s trust.
The Odu Ifá “Oyeku Meji” suggests that Eshu’s trickery involved:
“Eshu so Orunmila l’Ori
Orunmila so Obatala l’Ori
Ori ni won da”
Translated to English, this means:
“Eshu revealed Orunmila’s secret
Orunmila revealed Obatala’s secret
The secret is now out”
