OLOKUN keep secrets while ORUNMILA exposed them – ODU IFA reference 

According to Yoruba mythology and Ifa teachings, Olokun is considered the ultimate keeper of secrets.

While Orunmila (Ifa) reveals secrets and mysteries through divination, Olokun keeps secrets hidden in the depths of the ocean, never to be revealed.

In other words, Orunmila may reveal some secrets, but Olokun keeps the deepest and most profound secrets hidden, even from Orunmila.

The Odu Ifa that says Olokun keeps secrets is:

“Olokun ni o mo adele, ni o mo asoro, ni o mo aworo, ni o mo ogbe”

Translation:

“Olokun knows the secret, knows the mystery, knows the whisper, knows the silence”

This is from the Odu Ifa Oyeku-Oyeku, which is associated with Olokun’s energy and secrecy.

Another quote from Odu Ifa that reinforces this idea is:

“Olokun o mo ogbe, Olokun o mo asoro, aworo ni o mo”

Translation:

“Olokun knows the secret, Olokun knows the mystery, the whisper is what Olokun knows”
