Snakes and it’s ORISA In Yoruba mythology and teachings

We literally don’t have scholars in Yoruba history and mythology anymore .

People we have are either copying from older text content or creating an illusion for their readers because they can’t defend what they wrote.

I have written not less than 2800 articles on my blog www.orisa.com.ng and I am not stopping .

Am thinking of writing some real books on ORISA next year for those that needed advanced studying into YORUBA spirituality and ritual practices.

In Yoruba spirituality we have snakes and this snakes has ORISA that coordinate them , we have groups and sub groups of snakes and we have snakes in ranks ..

First of all we have

Osunmare – A snake that produce rainbow in the sky.

Osunmare is not a complete snake it is half snake and have human and it produces colourful rainbows in the sky.

Some people make sacrifices to osunmare and thy prayed to him for guidance and protection.

Osunmare lives in the seventh heaven filled with waters and fruits of different colour and shapes.

Osunmare is responsible for changes in seasons and weather .

2. Agbodere – A snake hunter that transform from snake to humans and from humans to snake .A very powerful snake that eats other snakes. It is meant and used for protection especially a new born baby who has a lot of enemies.

It hunts the enemies and at the same time good for hunting animals .

3. Olufa – A snake groups having their own world filled with snakes. They are literally all the snakes you see everywhere .

4. Eleriko – Snakes that lives only inside water. The lesser powerful groups of snakes as they are egbe orun. They are the least in ranks when we are talking about Snakes but they have their own powers too and they do damages to their enemy.

Eleriko are the Most famous Snakes are they are advertised by Many iyanifa and Babalawo.

AJE NLA is not just a man of snakes,  I was swallowed by a snake for days and laid out as an egg before hatching.
