Who owns the palm tree ??

OBATALA is the fluid and the life force of the Palm tree that is why the Palm wine is for OBATALA.

Palm wine is the fluid from the Palm tree.

Ọbàtálá is often described in Ifá not only as the creator ORISA but also as the white, clear, pure essence that flows within creation.

The palm tree, being a sacred cosmic tree, carries within it a mysterious fluid and in interpretation, that fluid is Ọbàtálá.

In Ọ̀sẹ́ Òfún, Ifá hints at this mystery:

“Emu nií mu Ọbàtálá dùn,
Emu ló mu kó ṣeré.”

It is palm wine that gladdens Ọbàtálá,
It is palm wine that makes him playful.

Palm wine = the divine fluid of Ọbàtálá.

Just as palm wine ferments, so too does life undergo transformation, growth, and change under Ọbàtálá’s guidance.

To drink palm wine in ritual is to commune with Ọbàtálá’s life essence.

If we see the palm tree as the body of creation, then the fluid (emu) is the spirit of creation.

Thus, Ọbàtálá is not just in heaven, but flowing in the veins of the sacred palm tree, nourishing all Òrìṣà and humanity

On a final note
Ọbàtálá is the white fluid inside the palm tree, the vital, pure essence flowing within creation.

The palm tree is his vessel, and palm wine is his spiritual blood.

This is why emu is sacred in Ifá, and why Ọbàtálá’s myths are tied to palm wine.
