Ewe Ifa (ifa herbs) for the omi ero


The following list contains some of the commonly used ewe for washing Ikin Ifa. 



However, the list is not exhaustive. 


So, the oluwo is at liberty to include other ewe, but the ewe to be added must be specifically for washing ikin ifa.

These are the symbols of ORISA osanyin 


The commonest symbol of Òsanyìn is what is called "ÒPÁ ÒSANYÌN" (Òsanyìn's staff) which has at least three branches at the top and made of iron.




Other symbol of Òsanyìn are human images carved with Orúrù wood ( Spathodes Campanulata). These images are usually prepared in herbs and dressed in clothes.They are called Ère Òsanyìn ( Òsanyìn statue).

These are the things which are taboo for osanyin and his worshippers. 



Taboos are:

• Palm kernel oil

• Roasted corn

• Tobacco (smoking, snuffing or licking)

• Camwood usage and Native chalk.
