Type of Forces that existed 

Broadly speaking, these forces are 

four in number namely, 

The gods, 

The ancestors, 

Witches and 

other Supernatural powers.

 

Plus human beings (Not part of the force)

The function of sacrifice is to enlist the support of these four forces for whatever 

one may want to do so that none of them may work against one's purpose. 

The part played by human beings in making sacrifices successful is not underrated in Ifa .
